What Do I Need to Prepare for COVID-19?

Supplies to have on hand (if possible)

  • Surgical/procedure masks (do not re-use)

  • Eye protection

  • Disposable gloves (do not re-use)

  • Disposable paper towels

  • Tissues

  • Waste container with plastic liner

  • Thermometer

  • Running water

  • Hand soap

  • Alcohol-based sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol

  • Dish soap

  • Regular laundry soap

  • Regular household cleaning products

  • Bleach (5% sodium hypochlorite) and a separate container for dilution

  • Alcohol prep wipes

  • Over the counter medication to reduce fever

  • NOTE 1: The World Health Organization recommended Tuesday that people suffering COVID-19 symptoms avoid taking ibuprofen, after French officials warned that anti-inflammatory drugs could worsen effects of the virus. Acetaminophen (Tylenol), otherwise known as Paracetamol outside of North America, is recommended, but must be taken according to the recommended dose, because too much of it can damage the liver.

  • NOTE 2: The European Medicines Agency issued a statement Wednesday saying that while it is monitoring the situation, there's "currently no scientific evidence establishing a link between ibuprofen and worsening of COVID‑19."
